The Palmer House Hilton hotel in Chicago, winner of the Project Innovations grand prize in the interior design category, is described. The hotel, which is North America's longest continuously operating hotel, underwent significant improvements to its guest rooms, public spaces, and infrastructure to restore it to its original grandeur. Despite the need to keep the hotel operational during the renovation and protect or restore its features, the work was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
